July 2026 Newsletter

Hello everyone! Welcome to the July edition of KCC's newsletter.

As always, KCC has been very busy which we love! Our staff and volunteers have been working hard to transform our front courtyard. We now have outdoor seating for the cafe, some lovely looking planters, hanging baskets and bike racks!

If you haven't already, come down 10:00am-2:00pm Monday-Friday to see the transformation (whilst enjoying some lovely homemade food and drinks).

Summer of Sport Event

Join us on Saturday 18th July 2026, 11:00am-3:00pm for the Shipley Town Council 'Annual Community Summer Event'.

This years event is 'sports' themed with activities running across the town including: Market Square, Central Park, Underground Market and Shipley Library.

KCC will be serving refreshments from our volunteer led community cafe. As well as, activity taster sessions running throughout the day including the regular monthly Lego and boarders club for all to enjoy.

Shipley Sound Youth Project

Are you 13-19 years old and living in Shipley?

Join us for a 5-week programme starting on 31st July and running on consecutive Fridays 10:00am - 3.00pm. Ending with a live show on the evening of 28th August.

The programme will teach you everything you need to know.

Could your group run an activity at Saltaire Festival?

Saltaire Festival are inviting local groups, clubs and organisations to help bring Roberts Park to life during the Family Weekend on 12th-13th September 2026.

From crafts and sports tasters to demonstrations and hands-on activities, it's a chance to share what your group does with festival visitors and introduce new people to your activities.

Norman Rae Gala

The Gala this year will be held on Sunday 5th July between 2:00pm - 4:30pm.

The afternoon will be packed with activities, performances and numerous stall including food and drink.

The KCC Lego Club will be there with a pop-up Lego creation area.

KCC Fundraising

Did you know you can fundraise while shopping?

When you sign up and add the extension to your internet browser or use the app, all the work is done for you!! Every time you click onto a website or app you will be told if there is a donation available, click on yes and shop as normal. It might be a few pence, but it all helps and there are no additional charges to you.
